"New'F"® Dermal Filler is a product which has been developed to help the body to 'fill-in' the lines, wrinkles and depressions which develop naturally over the years. "New'F"® Dermal Filler is a polylactic acid, which is a natural substance found in our body. It helps to stimulate the body's own production of collagen within the line or wrinkle, making the skin look smoother and firmer. It was developed for use in cosmetic medicine by a French dermatologist, Elizabeth McGlynn, for the augmentation of tissue volume in certain areas of the face. "New'F" Dermal Filler is a "collagen regeneration" or "new collagen synthesizing" product, like Isolagen, but unlike the "dermal fillers" ("Resty'L" Gel, Collagen "AQ'UA" Gel). Like its name implies, successive treatments with "New'F" Dermal Filler will "fill in" and "plump up" areas where the underlying supportive matrix of collagen tissue has deteriorated with age or been damaged or scared. It works by stimulating the cells called fibroblasts, in the deeper layers under our skin, that are responsible for manufacturing this supportive matting of our deep tissues that we call "collagen". This supporting matrix of collagen fibres forms the structural support for our skin. As we age, our collagen quantity and quality diminishes and gets squeezed out of the folds and wrinkles of our skin. This aging process of our appearance can now be reversed by this truly remarkable skin regeneration product. "New'F"® Dermal Filler is an excellent way of treating lines and wrinkles on all parts of the face. Its great advantage is in producing a collagen volume-plumping up of sagging skin, producing a general face-lifting. It will plump up and pull-up the naso-labial, peri-oral and marionette areas around the mouth. It can rebuild the sagging tissue over the upper cheeks, below the eyes and lower orbital margins. It can renew collagen production around the crows feet areas besides the eyes. It will rebuild volume in the cheeks, on the sides of the face and stretch out those difficult to treat "smile-wrinkles". It can build new collagen in the deeply lined frown-lines in the glabella area, between the eyebrows. It is used to stretch out the "smoker's lines", causing vertical creases above the top lip. One of its unique areas of success is in plumping-up and stretching the "crazed", damaged and wrinkled collagen around the chin, below the bottom lip. Other areas include the neck, wrinkles in the upper chest area or dйcolletage, the back of the hands and even certain types of scars can be treated. It can be used wherever the quality of the skin collagen is sagging, damaged or aged. Each treatment session involves a series of tiny injections over the area where collagen regeneration is desired. This spreads the "New'F" Dermal Filler into the deeper layers of skin. Usually, this consists of one ampoule of "New'F" Dermal Filler diluted with 4 to 5 mls of sterile water and local anaesthetic. This is followed by a deep massage to evenly diffuse the product. The entire session should take less than 30 minutes and is not too uncomfortable. The local anaesthetic in the injection minimizes most discomfort after the procedure. Initially, the skin plumps-up, but only due to the volume expansion of the fluid injected under the skin. The next day, your face looks unchanged as the water is reabsorbed from your skin. True collagen volume expansion and plumping occurs slowly, over the next few months. There is little to see on the skin the next day, other than a few tiny pin-prick marks or sometimes a local bruise can appear. These can easily be covered with makeup and an immediate return to work is usual, if desired. There is little to see in the skin for the first month or so, as it takes time for the polylactic acid to stimulate the fibroblast cells to produce sufficient new collagen to be obvious. A second treatment session is recommended after 4 to 6 weeks, involving the same procedure. In older people, where the collagen aging of the skin is more pronounced, it will be necessary to have additional treatment sessions spaced several months apart to produce the desired result. Two to three treatments are usually required for best effect, for people in their early to mid-forties, two sessions for people in their thirties, four treatments for more damaged and sagging skin, for people older than fifties. The final resulting collagen restoration should last up to 2 to 2.5 years. Naturally, as we age further, our skin will age also and it follows that further treatment sessions will be needed to further rejuvenate the skin. Usually, one maintenance "top-up" treatment is advised, approximately every two years. Lactic acid is a chemical present in our bodies, polylactic acid is a synthetic substance made up of many tiny particles of lactic acid joined together. Polylactic acid was discovered and developed by the National French Research Organisation back in 1954. Physicians and surgeons throughout the world have used it safely and effectively for the past 20 years in a number of different indications. "New'F" Dermal Filler® is a polylactic acid (PLA) hydrogel. PLA is a synthetic polymer that is biocompatible, biodegradable, and immunologically inert; it has been widely researched and used for a range of applications in medicine and surgery. Its complete safety has been a proven fact for over twenty years. The manufacturing process for "New'F" Dermal Filler® and the quality assurance system deployed, which comply with Good Manufacturing Practice and ISO 9000 industrial standards, offer every possible guarantee of safety. Laboratory and clinical studies have demonstrated excellent tolerance for "New'F" Dermal Filler®. Treatment with "New'F" Dermal Filler® does not require any prior skin test. The polylactic acid, that is "New'F" Dermal Filler, is re-absorbed by the body, leaving your bodies own new collagen to produce a long lasting result. There are stringent regulations imposed by the Australian government to monitor all medical products. "New'F" Dermal Filler® along with all other medical products, are constantly monitored to ensure they are safe and effective for the consumer. Australian, British and European approved "New'F" Dermal Filler®, obtained TGA (Australia) approval in 2002 and the CE mark in 1999 (European Community). The manufacturing process and the quality assurance system applied during production conform to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and to ISO 9002 regulations, which is a guarantee of safety. "New'F" Dermal Filler® is a synthetic substance and contains no animal proteins. It is therefore very unlikely to cause allergic reactions. Some patients may have a little discomfort after the procedure with some associated swelling, bruising or redness around the treated area, but such reactions will be mild and temporary. Because of this excellent local and general tolerance of "New'F" Dermal Filler® patients can have immediate treatment without preliminary testing. To avoid excess bruising, patients should avoid taking any medications containing aspirin for up to 48 hours before treatment and do not use any Retinol A based skin creams 4-5 days prior to treatment. |
